Two kits

009 kits model-railways narrow-gauge new-products

Despite a lack of posts here, or indeed progress on the layout, I am still alive. Domestic duties are getting in the way of quality modelling time at the moment, so by way of some compensation here’s an update on a couple of new 009 loco kits in development that may be of interest.

Alan Jones at Bal Models is putting together etches for a brass kit of the Bagnall 2-4-0T ‘Talybont’/‘Rheidol’ which should be a complete model with body and chassis.

Meanwhile, Tom Dauben is working on a resin body kit for a Hunslet 0-6-4T of a type constructed in 1931 for the South East Indian Railways. This is planned to fit on a Dapol Prairie or Ivatt chassis and looks like it could be a good size for Fairlight if there is scope to Anglicise the details.

If you’re interested in either of these kits then do get in touch with the people developing them, as registering an interest will help them to determine if production is viable.
