Pile 'em high and flog 'em cheap
009 kits model-railways narrow-gaugeFunnily enough, since buying Cranbrook I have done more OO9 modelling than take steps in to O16.5. This is due to have a bits box with several unfinished coaches and other items of rolling stock that needed finishing off before dispatch to the Great Model Railway Bazaar (a.k.a. eBay).
I figure, untouched kits sell well, completed models sell well, but who wants someone’s half-built “project”?
It is quite satisfying, though, knowing you are building rolling stock that needs to be of reasonable quality but doesn’t have to be exactly right for a particular layout. And that there will be a bit of £££ to reinvest at the end of it.
