Narrow gauge roving reporter extraordinaire Mick Thornton has paid a visit to Dick Wyatt’s classic 009 layout Dovey Valley Railway, ahead of its appearance at Narrow Gauge South in Sparsholt next month.

The layout is rarely exhibited these days, and I for one am looking forward to finally seeing it in the flesh after spending many hours as a youngster trying to match the photos in the modelling press to the intricate track plan.

Narrow Gauge South 2008 and the 009 Society AGM will be held at The Sainsbury Building, Sparsholt College, Westley Lane, Sparsholt, Winchester, SO21 2NF on Saturday 29th March.
